ACHRO/EEO Fall Training Institute
October 22-25, 2024
Doubletree by Hilton, Sonoma Wine Country
The Association of Chief Human Resource Officers and Equal Employment Officers (ACHRO/EEO) of the California Community Colleges invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2024 Fall Institute October 22 (pre-conference) – 25, 2024.
The Association takes responsibility and leadership of professional development for human resources and equal employment professionals. Membership is open to managers, professionals, and paraprofessionals whose responsibilities include human resources and/or the equal employment function.
Presentation tracks should address the needs of the more experienced and newer community college administrator, mid-level professional, and/or paraprofessionals. Consider workshops on best practices, models, recent legislation, court cases as they affect various provisions of laws, etc., as they relate to human resources and equal employment officers.
The theme for this year’s Fall Institute is “Cultivate, Motivate, Celebrate: Celebrando Nuestras Raices”. Sessions should demonstrate how you Cultivate talent and new ideas into your HR Management; Motivate your staff and the college community; and Celebrate the diversity of our institutions and the transformation you help provide in the lives of your students and college staff.
We have identified the following key focus areas as topics of concentration. Proposals addressing these topics and the theme will be given high consideration.
- EEO Plan Framework and Effective Implementation
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Human Resource World
- Mental Health, Wellness and Employee Support
- Understanding and Implementing new HR Legislation
- Succession Planning – Preparing the Leaders of the Future
- Professional Development Structures/Upward Mobility
- Effective Onboarding Strategies
- Workplace Violence Policies and Prevention
- Infusing DEI Beyond Human Resources
There is also an interest in having 2-3 Roundtables with facilitators built into the conference schedule.
Business partners should include an experienced human resources/equal employment professional as co-presenters in your workshops or as panel members, Please ask one Chief Human Resource Office to sponsor your presentation. They will need to attend the session with you. They may or may not present. We also encourage you to make the session interactive and/or include polling, group discussions or audience participation, where appropriate.
Except for the Town Hall meeting, diversity training, and/or Mock Trial type presentations, accepted presentations will be scheduled in one 1 hour-15 minute time slot or two successive time slots totaling 2 hours and 30 minutes with a break in between.
